Peter K. Knox
Wapello County
A native of Ohio and came to Iowa in 1851, and settled on farm of some 800 acres. During his long residence in Wapello County he was frequently honored by his fellow citizens by being called to positions of trust and honor. In 1855 and 1856 he was the treasurer of the county subsequently a valuable member of the Board of Supervisors, and in 1863 he was elected to the legislature, and re elected in 1865, where he served as a member of the House of Representatives. In politics he was a Republican. For the last five years he has acted as an independent of all party affiliations. In religion he was a liberalist.
