Robert Alcorn
Webster County
Born in Columbus, Bartholomew County, Indiana, on January 24, 1836. Mr. Alcorn married Charity Hise September 15, 1857 and they had 10 children. He taught the first school in a small house in Webster County, Iowa. He served in the Civil War, was appointed first lieutenant, January 28, 1862, and mustered out January 28, 1862. In 1866 Webster County was placed in the fifty-seventh district, with Robert Alcorn serving in the Eleventh General Assembly, 1866, as a representative. He passed away on June 19, 1920, and is buried at Bethel Cemetery in Sanger, California.
