Jacob Huner

Born September 11, 1803. Mr. Huner was the postmaster of the first post office established April 6, 1837, in the vicinity of the site of Montrose, Iowa, Des Moines County, Wisconsin. He was elected to the represent Lee County in the Seventh and Eighth Legislative Assemblies, 1845-46, and served in the Senate in the First General Assembly, 1946. Mr. Huner was a Democrat in politics. He was a member of the Grand Lodge of Iowa. Mr. Huner died July 25, 1851, in Fort Madison, Iowa.
