Born March 30, 1805, York County, Pennsylvania, and died June 22, 1880 in Lee County, Iowa. He was a botanist, farmer and mechanic. Mr. Kent married Anna Maria Rothrock, October 16, 1834, in Pennsylvania. They removed to Lee County, Iowa in 1840. Mr. Kent was a delegate to the 1846 Constitutional Convention, and represented Lee County in the First Iowa General Assembly in the House of Representatives.
