Born in 1794 in Pennsylvania. He was married to Isabell Graham and lived in Indiana before moving to Iowa in July 1836. He represented Cedar County in the House of Representatives of the First Legislative Assembly of the Iowa Territory in 1838. He died in Cedar County, Iowa on January 26, 1849.
