RUBEN CONLEE Born in 1790. He farmed sixty acres in Jefferson Township. He was a member of the 1st legislative session of the State of Iowa, being a member of the lower House. He was a man of prominence, and in addition to his other honors he for many years held the office of justice of the peace in Lee County. Mr. Conlee was married to Nancy Doyle and they were the parents of eleven children. Mr. Conlee died before his term expired, and at a special election, held in January, 1847, Daniel S. Baker was chosen to fill the vacancy,1848.
