Was born in Piqua, Ohio, February 3, 1818. Mr. Rodgers was united in marriage at Piqua, Ohio, in 1843, living there one year after marriage, and then moving to Brighton, Iowa, living there until 1878. Mr. Rodgers taught school a few years in Ohio and Iowa. While in Iowa he engaged in the farming and milling business. During his residence in Iowa he served several years in the legislature of that state. He was also Justice of the Peace there 29 years. He was a thorough Christian gentleman and a model citizen in every respect.
