Born in Delaware on May 12, 1800. At twenty years of age he moved to western Pennsylvania, and at twenty-two married Miss Peggy Gaston. In 1845 he came to Iowa and at one time was a representative in the Sixth General Assembly, 1856 from Des Moines county. He was a patriotic man and sent five sons to the army for the union. Mr. Perry was a farmer.
