Born October 8, 1818 in Rumford, Oxford County, Maine. He came to Greene county, Iowa from Illinois between 1853-1854. He married Lucy M. Blanchard on February 6, 1840, Maine. He was a merchant and farmer. He was justice of the peace in Medford Oregon. A member of the Masons and I. O. O. F. Mr. Walton was elected to represent Greene county in the Ninth General Assembly, 1862.
