Born March 5, 1821, in Steuben County, New York. In 1812, he came with his parents to Indiana, and inĀ·1844, came to Monroe County, Iowa. He owns 337 acres of land. Mr. Rowles was united in married Miss Louisa Lower December 7, 1846. In 1860, he was elected a member of the Legislature; was a member of the Board of Supervisors, and has held about all the township offices. He is a Republican in politics. They were members of M. E. Church.
