President of Iowa Barb Steel Wire Co., born in Dracut, Mass., July 31, 1824. He received his education in Massachusetts, and came to Illinois and afterward came to Iowa. He studied medicine and graduate at Rush Medical College, Chicago, and practiced medicine in Iowa for many years. He built the first house that was in Brooklyn, Poweshiek County. He represented Poweshiek county in the 10th State Legislature. Came to Marshalltown in 1872.
