Born about 1821 in Pennsylvania. He was the post master in Quincy, Adams County, Iowa from 1867-1868 and 1870-1872. He served as a Representative in the 11th General Assembly (1866-1868). By 1880 he had moved to Nebraska. A. K. Crawford was the last postmaster at Carisbrook, Nebraska and in connection with the office, he kept a nice line of merchandise and groceries which was a great benefit and convenience to the settlers.
