Born about 1830 in Donegal Township, Westmoreland Co., Penn. He married Eleanor Robinson about 1850 in Ohio. She was born about 1836 in Ohio. In 1855 he moved to LeClaire Township, Scott County, Iowa, and was a carpenter. He served in the Iowa State Senate in the 11th and 12th General Assemblies, 1866 to 1868. He died in Santa Rosa, California, in 1877.
