Born in Kentucky in 1815, and died 28 December 1884. He was a physician. Dr. Guthrie was a veteran of the Civil War. He is listed on the census of 1860 as living in Beaver Twp., Butler County, Iowa, with his wife Mary A. and children Thomas E., Hester, Mary E. Flora, Ida, and Frank.
