JOHNSON, Andrew J. Moorhead Monona County Republican. Born in Moorhead, Iowa, February 13, 1891. Son of J. H. Johnson, Moorhead. Graduated from rural school and attended Dana College. Married Lena Sorenson, February 26, 1913. Farmer. Has three sons, Howard, Virgil, Carroll, and four daughters, Evelyn, LaVonne, Nola and Rosalie. Served as township clerk, president of Monona County Farmers Union. Instrumental in organizing Voluntary Debt Adjustment Committees, 1932, 1933. Appointed by Governor Herring as member Monona County Conciliation Board. Appointed by Governor Kraschel to State Farm Debt Advisory Council. Vice president Iowa Farmers Union and president in 1936, 1937 and 1938. Secretary National Farmers Processing Tax Recovery Association. Member of Bethesda Lutheran church. Serving first term.
