He was born in the State of Maine in 1820, and died at his home in Lockridge, Jefferson county, about the year 1890. He became a citizen of Iowa in 1857. He was major of the Fourth Iowa Cavalry, in the Thirteenth General Assembly he served on the committees on county and township organization, Reform School, military and internal improvement, being chairman of the latter. He was a man of good ability, fairly active in legislative work, and faithful in the discharge of his duties.
