Born in Morgan County, Ohio, September 4th, 1827. He lived in Ohio until 1848 when he came to Mt. Pleasant. Iowa. He married Miss Mary Mooney, May 9, 1850 in Muskingum, Ohio. Mr. Thompson lived in that county ten years. then went to Lucas county where he resided over 25 years. He became well known there and represented Lucas county in the Fifteenth General Assembly in 1874.
