Born in 1828 in Pennsylvania and died January 20, 1884 in Jones County, Iowa. He was married to Lydia Crawford, born 1835 in Ohio. They had three children: Anna (1852), Jennie (1860) and Jennings (1870). He was elected to represent Jones county in the Fourteenth and Fifteenth Iowa General Assemblies, 1872 and 1874.
