Born in 1829 at Buffalo, New York. He was the son of Guy H. Goodrich. He went to Mitchell County, Iowa, in 1857, lived there four years, and then went to Cresco, Iowa. He studied law at Harvard Law-School, and admitted to the bar in Buffalo in 1848. He was judge of Howard County, Iowa, 1865-6, a member of the board of supervisors six years, a member of the State legislature, 1873-74, and mayor of Cresco for two years.
