Born in Saratoga County, New York, in 1829, and is a son of A. W. and Mary Danforth. When he was two years of age his parents removed to Jefferson County, New York, in which county Mr. Danforth grew to manhood, receiving a common school education. In 1861 he came west and located on his present farm. Although not an office-seeker, Mr. Danforth has been elected to fill quite important positions. In 1865 he was a member of the county board of supervisors, and has also been elected member of the State Legislature serving in the Fourteenth and Fifteenth General Assemblies, 1872 and 1874.
