Born in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, on December 1, 1819. Dr. Doron had lived in Iowa since 1846. His first Iowa residence was in Rockville, where he began the practice of his profession as a physician. Ten years later he removed to Delhi. In 1862 he removed to Mt. Vernon. Dr. Doron was a staunch republican and a firm opposer of saloonism. In 1847 he was elected a representative for Linn County in the state legislature. Dr. Doron had held several positions of honor and trust and was held in high esteem. He was a prominent Odd Fellow and a well known figure in medical and political conventions. He was not a member of any church but was a man of high principle and was unflinching in his devotion to duty.
