Born June 4, 1848, in Jefferson County, Ohio. He was the son of Jacobs G. and Anne Vale. His parents immigrated to Iowa in the spring of 1850, and located near Primrose, Lee County. In the spring of 1856, he came to Harrisburg Township, Van Buren County. Mr. Vale was a man of ability, having served as Senator, and in other official capacity. He was one of the leading farmers of the county. Mr. B. R. Vale attended the Birmingham Academy, of this county and finished his education at Monmouth College, Illinois where he graduated in June, 1873. He married Nancy Biddle, of Kirkwood, Illinois, Feb. 12, 1874. He was a member of the Union Presbyterian Church. Politically he was a Republican.
