Born on February 21, 1834, at Heideman, New York. Mr. Bishop represented the forty-ninth Senatorial district in the upper House in the Twenty-fourth and Twenty-fifth Iowa General Assemblies, 1892-94. Agricultural matters receive his special attention on the floor of the Senate. He was a Democrat. He farmed for thirty-three years in Iowa. Mr. Bishop married Miss Adaline Gilman on December 4, 1856, and they had four children.
