Representative from O’Brien County. Born at Wem-Shropshire, England. He moved to Merthyr Tydfil, the capital of Wales, with his parents when five years of age, where he attended the graded schools of the city. He came to O’Brien County in 1872. Mr. Youde worked on a farm until he was nineteen, when he began teaching in the public schools, winters, and farming in the summer, mingling both occupations for about eight years, since which time he has devoted his attention to farming and stock-raising. He has held the office of township trustee, assessor, president of school board, and county supervisor. He was elected to the office of Representative to fill vacancy, in 1905, but by a coalition of an element of the Republican and Democrat members, was not allowed to take his seat, the House seating the Hon. G. R. Whitmer. He was re-elected in 1906. A Republican in politics.
