Representative from Buena Vista county. Born of American parents at Belleville, Illinois. When thirteen years old he came to Clay county, where he received a common school education and taught school. Later he removed to Buena Vista county, where he taught school, took a short business course in Buena Vista College at Storm Lake and secured a position with the Bank of Linn Grove, where he has been engaged for the past thirteen years. Elected Representative in 1906. A Democrat in politics.
