Representative from Cherokee county. Born in Rochester, New York, in 1846 of Irish parentage. His education was received in the public schools of New York. At the age of fifteen he moved to Kenosha, Wisconsin, and in 1866 to Allamakee county, Iowa, where he resided until 1875, when he moved to Cherokee county, settling on a farm in Diamond township, where he has since resided. He was married in 1869 and has six children, three boys and three girls. He is a director of the First National Bank of Aurelia. Elected Representative in 1906. A Democrat in politics.
