Representative from Decatur county. Born in Wayne county, Iowa. His parents were American-born. He was educated in the rural schools of Decatur county and the Lineville High School. Upon leaving the high school he taught school for a number of terms. He is a farmer by choice and takes great pride in his well kept farm of five hundred acres, which he bought and cleared as his means permitted. For twenty years he has been road overseer near his home and his system of making and repairing dirt roads has been attended with marked success. Elected Representative in 1906. A Republican in politics.
