Representative from Wapello county, was born in Eldon, Wapello county, Iowa, July 9, 1875. He is of American-born parents of Scotch-Irish descent. Attended the Eldon public school and graduated from the high school in 1891. After leaving school he clerked for five years in a drug store when he took a course in pharmacy and chemistry at Highland Park College, Des Moines, Iowa. Is a registered pharmacist and has been engaged in the retail drug business in Eldon, Iowa, for the past ten years. Three times elected city clerk of Eldon. Married in 1902 to Bertha Tennant of Oskaloosa, Iowa, and has one child, a daughter. Elected Representative in 1908. A Republican in politics.
