Representative from Harrison county, was born at Missouri Valley, Iowa, May 19, 1872, of English and Scotch descendants. He acquired his education in the common and high schools of Missouri Valley and attended Cornell College at Mount Vernon, Iowa, for one year. Began work as clerk in a lumber and coal yard in 1889 and in 1895 entered the employ of the First National Bank of Missouri Valley, Iowa, of which institution he has been president since 1901. Was married April 10, 1901, to Ruth E. Noyes. Has held the office of City Treasurer for a number of years and was chairman of the Republican county central committee for the years 1903, 1904 and 1905. Was elected Representative in 1906, and re-elected in 1908. A Republican in politics.
