Representative from Greene county, was born in Chicago, Illinois, November 4, 1868, of native born parents. He received his early education in the schools of Chicago and of Waucoma, Iowa, where his father was engaged in the business of milling. In 1884 the family removed to Jefferson, in Greene county, where the father, E. B. Stillman, became proprietor of the Jefferson Bee. In 1887 entered the University of Michigan, at Ann Arbor, and graduated with degree of Bachelor of Arts in 1891. Since that time has been connected with the Jefferson Bee as editor and part owner. Has never held public office until elected Representative in 1906. Re-elected in 1908 and 1910, and was chosen Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Thirty-fourth General Assembly. A Republican in politics.
