Representative from Jasper county, was born April 2, 1849, in Stockholm, St. Lawrence county, New York. He moved with his parents to Ft. Dodge, Iowa, in 1853, and from there to Jasper county, in 1860, to the farm where he still resides. Was educated in the rural schools, and in the high school of Newton. Taught in the country schools for twelve years. Is a member of the Congregational church. Was township assessor for ten years and township clerk for eighteen years. Elected Representative in 1910. A Republican in politics.
