Representative from Pocahontas county, was born on a farm near Churchville, Iowa, May 4, 1867, of Irish parentage. Educated in the rural schools and was a student for a term at Simpson College and for three months at the Capital City Commercial College at Des Moines. When fifteen years old he and his brother moved to Pocahontas county, where with the exception of two years and a half spent in Texas and the west, he has since resided. For the past sixteen years he has lived in the town of Fonda and has been engaged in real estate, farm loans and the mercantile business. Has been a member of the school board of Fonda during the past five years. Elected Representative in 1910. A Democrat in politics.
