Representative from Monroe county, was born on a farm in the southern part of Monroe county, Iowa, July 23, 1876, of American parentage. He received a common school education, supplemented with a business course at the Ottumwa Commercial College. Remained on the farm until twenty-one years of age, when he commenced the study of law at Albia, Iowa, and was admitted to the practice of law in 1899. Is a member of the firm of Mabry & Hickenlooper. In 1900 was elected Clerk of the District Court of Monroe county, and was re-elected in 1902, 1904 and 1906, serving in all eight years. Is married and has two children. Elected Representative in 1908 and re-elected in 1910. A Republican in politics.
