Representative from Boone county, was born in Davenport, Iowa, in 1849. Moved with his parents to Geneseo, Illinois, where received a high school education. Taught school and operated a brickyard. Graduated from Washington University Law School at St. Louis. Admitted to the bar and practiced law four years in Story county, Iowa. Established the Boone clay works in 1889, from which he recently retired. Is a member' of the Iowa Brick and Tile Association, of which he was president for several years. Married to Miss Ella Hamor in 1876. A member of the Mystic Shrine, Scottish Rite and the Knights of Pythias. Elected representative in 1912. A republican in politics.
