Representative from Hamilton county, was born February 5, 1876, in Hamilton county, of Swedish parentage. Was educated in the rural schools and was a student at Highland Park College, Des Moines, for one and a half years. After leaving college he worked on his father's farm for a while and then taught school. Took a course in the Chicago Correspondence School of Law and was admitted to the bar in 1901. Moved to Webster City in 1899 and became deputy clerk of the court of Hamilton county, which position he occupied for eighteen months. He then entered an abstract office and also engaged in the practice of law until 1905, when he was elected clerk of the court, which position he held for six years. Has been a member of the Iowa national guard for ten years and is captain of Co. C of the Fifty-sixth infantry. Married Miss Grace Bishop of Webster city in 1901 and to them have been born two boys and a girl. Elected representative in 1910. Re-elected in 1912. A republican in politics.
