Representative from Pottawattamie county, was born in Dearborn county, Indiana, of German-Scotch parentage. At the age of six years he moved with his parents to Washington county, Iowa. Attended the public schools at Ainsworth; also spent two years in the high school at Washington and one term at the academy at that place. Moved to Pottawattamie county in 1870, where he still resides. Is engaged in farming and public auctioneering. Has occupied many offices of public trust. Elected representative in 1910. Re-elected in 1912. A democrat in politics.
