Representative from Louisa county, was born on a farm near Ainsworth, Iowa, January 22, 1879. His father was born in Pennsylvania, and came to Iowa in 1842; his mother was born in Illinois. Educated in the common schools, Washington Academy at Washington, and graduated from the college of Liberal Arts at the University of Iowa in 1901. He is a farmer and breeder of fine stock and has lived on a farm in Louisa county since 1902. Has never before held public office. Married October 12, 1910, to Miss Mildred Horton. Elected representative in 1910. Re-elected in 1912. A republican in politics.
