Representative from Fayette county, was born November 28, 1858, on a farm in Cook county, Illinois, of English born parents. He was educated in the rural and high schools of Arlington Heights, and a Chicago business college. Since coming to Iowa in 1885 he has been actively engaged in farming and livestock, being one of the heaviest stock dealers of the county. Served as Trustee of Eden township for ten successive years. In 1906 was elected a member of the board of supervisors of Fayette county, and has twice been re-elected, resigning the last year to represent his county in the thirty-sixth general assembly. Was married in 1885 to Adella T. Hunerburg, who died in 1887. In 1891 was married to Miss Ethel J. Shaw. Is a member of the I.O.O.F. and the Congregational church of Waucoma, Iowa. A republican in politics.
