Representative from Henry county, was born June 20, 1869, on a farm near Dodgeville, Des Moines county, Iowa. He attended the district school, Iowa Wesleyan College and the Law Department of the State University. He served as county attorney of Henry county from 1895 to 1899 and was postmaster at Mt. Pleasant from 1906 to 1915. On December 4, 1894, he married Miss Clara Bird of Mt. Pleasant. Methodist. Elected representative in 1914. A republican in politics.
