Representative from Wapello county, was born in Scott county, Iowa, October 14, 1866, of American parentage. Moved to Jasper county when about eight years of age. Reared on a farm and received his education at district and Grinnell public schools. Previous to majority entered the railroad service as trainman, which occupation he still follows. Is a member of the Masonic order and of the Order of R.R. Conductors. A republican in politics.
