His parents, Alpheus and Mary Eggleston, were pioneer settlers of Clarke county, Iowa. Is married and has four sons and three daughters. Has held the office of township clerk, township trustee, school treasurer and deputy county treasurer. Is a member of the Knights of Pythias and a member of the Church of Christ. Elected representative in 1912. Re-elected in 1914. A democrat in politics.
