Representative from Monroe county, was born November 8, 1860, in a log house, and of pioneer parents. His father, Wareham G. Clark, and his mother, formerly Jane L. Rankin, settled in Monroe county in 1843. His education was obtained in the common schools. He grew to manhood on the farm, and has followed farming, beekeeping and dairying all his life. He served as assessor, justice of the peace and school director, having been president of the school board for more than twenty-five years. Was married to Miss Maggie J. Morris April 2, 1882, and their family consists of five girls and two boys. Elected representative in 1912. Re-elected in 1914. A democrat in politics.
