Was educated in the rural schools of Dallas county, in the Perry high school and attended the State College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts at Ames in 1886 and 1887. He served as county surveyor of Dallas county for one term. Has devoted his entire life to agriculture except the two years he was county surveyor. Elected representative in 1910. Re-elected in 1912. Re-elected in 1914. A republican in politics.
