Representative from Page county, was born in Sweden, May 14, 1855; graduated from the public schools of Sweden. Came to this country with his parents in 1870 and has lived in Page county ever since. Received a further school education in the public schools of Iowa and studied law two and one-half years. He is a farmer. Was married to Miss Christin Olson in 1879. He has held the offices of road superintendent, secretary and president of the school board, assessor, township clerk, township trustee and justice of the peace. Was elected clerk of the district court of Page county for three consecutive terms. Has been a member of the board of directors of the First National Bank of Essex and president of the Commercial National Bank of same place. Elected representative in 1914. Re-elected in 1916. Republican in politics.
