Representative from Iowa county, was born in Dane county, Wisconsin, October 2, 1865. When about one year old he came with his parents to a farm near North English, Iowa, where he has since lived. His parents were of old New England stock. His education was obtained in the rural schools. On October 4, 1893, he was married to Miss Della Troger. Is a member of the Christian church. Elected representative in 1914, re-elected in 1916. A republican in politics.
