Representative from Tama county, was born in Morrow county, Ohio, September 26, 1858. His father was born near Akron, Ohio, and his mother in Bennington, Vermont. Moved with his parents to Benton county, Iowa, in 1864. Was educated in the rural schools and Tilford academy. Married Elizabeth W. Keith, September 6, 1881. Moved to Traer, Tama county, in 1888, where he has since resided. Is engaged in the jewelry business; has served on the city council and as mayor of Traer. A member of the Masonic order since 1879. Is a past master, a past high priest in the chapter and a past eminent commander of the commandry of Knights of Templar. Elected representative in 1914. Re-elected in 1916. A republican in politics.
