Representative from Poweshiek county, was born at Montezuma, Iowa, July 22, 1874. His father, Amos F. Rayburn, was born in Clinton county, Ohio, and his mother, Nettie Brosius, was born at Knightstown, Indiana. He is a graduate of the Montezuma high school and of the State Teachers College at Cedar Falls. Has been engaged in the banking business as an officer of the First National Bank of Montezuma. Also president of the Commercial Club of Montezuma at the present time. Was married in 1898 to Gertrude Powell. Is a member of the M. E. church, and also of the I.O.O.F., Knights of Pythias, Sons of Veterans, B.P.O.E., and Masonic lodges. Elected representative in 1914 and re-elected in 1916. A republican in politics.
