Representative from Benton county, was born in Benton county, Iowa, June 2, 1870. His parents were born in Scotland and came to this country in the early fifties. He has lived almost continuously since his birth and still resides on the farm which his father originally entered from the government. He was educated in the common schools of Benton county, Iowa, and later in the academy at Vinton and business college at Dixon, Illinois. He was married in 1898 to Olive L. Graham. He is president of the Mt. Auburn Savings Bank. Was elected representative in 1914 and re-elected in 1916. United Presbyterian in religion. Republican in politics.
