Representative from Sac county, was born in Sac City, Iowa, November 18, 1860. Moved with his parents, in the spring of 1861 to a farm five miles north of this city, where he resided until he became of age. Was married March 16, 1884, to Celia E. Rogers. He farmed until February, 1893, when he moved to Sac City where he had bought an elevator, and entered the grain, coal and livestock business following this line for nine years. During this time he became actively engaged in the auction business; making a specialty of farm and livestock sales, at which business he has continued until his election to the legislature from the Sixtieth district. He owns and has operated either by hired help or tenant a number of farms which have claimed a very large part of his attention. Father was M. S. Lee, formerly of Schoharie county, New York. Mother Caroline Travis of Laporte, Ind. They were among the early settlers of Sac county having come here in August, 1856. Has been a member of the school board and mayor of Sac City. An active republican in politics.
