Representative from Cerro Gordo county, was born in Erie county, New York, February 28, 1877. His parents moved to Butler county, Iowa, in September, 1879. He lived on the farm near Allison until the fall of 1899, when he entered the Iowa State College and graduated in the Scientific course in June, 1903, when he entered the Drake Law School. After completing a two-year course there went to Yale University and graduated from the Law Department in 1905. After graduation he located at Clear Lake, Iowa, and practiced law. He served four years as chairman of the Republican County Central Committee. Was elected representative for the Eighty-seventh district in the November election of 1914 and re-elected in 1916. A republican in politics.
